He commended the community for their unanimous endorsement of Sultan Abdirahman, whose lineage is steeped in historical Sultanate coronations and has long been recognized as a distinguished family of Sultanates. This continuity, Mr. Kassim noted, is vital for cultural preservation and communal stability.
Mr. Kassim further took the opportunity to praise CS Aden Bare Duale, lauding him for his consistent and unwavering support for the people of Northern Kenya. He acknowledged the CS’s tireless advocacy for communal agendas, religious affairs, regional political issues, and support for educational institutions. Mr. Kassim asserted that Duale has honestly championed the interests of the Somali Community, becoming a distinguished and recognizable face for the community’s aspirations both locally and nationally.
A long-serving educationist with decades of experience in the teaching profession, Mr. Adan Kassim officially declared his interest in running for the Wajir County Senatorial seat in the 2027 General Election. He highlighted his extensive political experience, stating, “I have helped in power many successful regimes behind the scenes and played a central role in the politics of Wajir for many years.” Emphasizing his county-wide appeal, Mr. Kassim stated he has strong ties with communities spanning the entire county—from Dadajabula to Bute, Korof Harar to Ademasajida, and Habaswein to Griftu.
