Through Courtesy of Majority Leader Aden Duale, Hafsa Bint Siirin Centre for Islamic Women Delegation from Garissa County visit State House to meet President Kenyatta.

The Leader of the Majority party in the National Assembly and Garissa legislator Aden Bare Duale today took Islamic Women Delegation from Garissa County to meet President Kenyatta at State House.

During the visit which was of its kind, the President donating a bus to the Centre and encouraged women to play a more active role in Kenya’s push to attain prosperity, peace and stability.

Hafsa Bint Siirin Centre is an Islamic women educational and empowerment institution based in Garissa town. The centre provides education and empowerment to women, orphans, vulnerable girls, persons with disability and senior citizens.

Duale’s leadership is grounded by support to religious groups and institutions throughout his political career. He gives full fledged commitment to religious affairs that has made it the biggest legacy that has seen him win three consecutive terms in Parliament.

The legislator has given strong support to religious institutions through construction of Mosques, harambees to raise funds for religious undertakings, attending closing ceremonies for Madrasas, funding the building of many Madrasas and paying salaries for teachers of Madrasas from his pocket.

Aden Duale is a close ally of President Kenyatta who is his Party Leader and his point man in the National Assembly. Due to the trust from President Kenyatta and Jubilee top hierarchy duale is now serving his second term as Leader of Majority Party. Duale has on his part performed well in the August House by employing his eloquency, mastery of the constitution and the House standing Orders. He has matured in coercing loyal party members in defending Government agenda in the National Assembly.

While handing over the bus donation to the women who were led by the centre’s founder Ms Hawa Kalba Gure, President Kenyatta encouraged them to continue working for the empowerment of women and the girl child.

The Head of State underscored the importance of women empowerment saying mothers give their children a firm foundation from which they become meaningful contributors to the development and economic growth of the country.

The President, who also donated indigenous tree seedlings to the group, pointed out that shutting out women from the core of national development means shutting out half of the country’s human capital.

“We cannot allow that to happen. We want women to be at the centre of development and nation building like their male counterparts,” he said.

Duale thanked the President for the donation saying the bus will enhance the operations of the group.
