RK enables issuance of digital driving licences to Taxi operators

Wajir east member of parliament Rashid Kasim Amin has today announced the date when National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) will issue digital driving licenses to taxi operators.

Those to benefit included operators of Taxis, Boda Boda and Tuktuk through their association, according to the pledge the lawmaker made on Agust 25, 2020.

The issuance of the digital driving licences was one of the pledges Mr Rashid Kasim Amin, commonly refered by his supporters as RK promised in less than two months ago.

In an update on his official facebook page the MP wrote “The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) will be undertaking digital driving licenses enrollment at wajir county huduma center from november 16th-20th, 2020 from 8.00am.

“On friday the NTSA will issue the licences to those whose pictures were taken between monday and thursday” he said.

The association of Taxi, Tuktuk and Boda Boda met the MP and made a special request to NTSA through him to do the service in Wajir. RK promised to fulfil the pledge in two months time which is now coming to fruition.

In a phone interview with ARF Media Group the lagislator said the association had difficulties in acccesing the vital documents and were instead being forced to travel to Nairobi thereby incurring a lot of expenses to acquire the digital driving licences. With the same being done in their vicinity would ease the burden as there will be no more traveling to Nairobi or neighbouring counties to acquire the digital driving licence, he added.

The wajir east lawmaker Rashid Kasim Amin also named ‘Super MP’ has outwit other elected leaders with his ambitious agenda of fullfiling all his campaign pleadges to the electorates as well as other promises he has made even after being elected.

The MP hosts close to all members of the different tribes in Kenya who are his constituents since it’s a cosmopolitan one.

Elderly drivers in wajir county had challenges in getting the new driving licence, but now courtesy of Rashid Kasim Amin, the service have been brought closer to them to access the document.

The MP said the association of Tuktuk, Taxi and Boda Boda operate under Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) or low income people in the constituency and has the responsibility as their representative to take care of them.

The MP’s progressive agenda to assisting his electorate especially vulnerable members of the society is building a strong legacy that will make it easy for him to reclaim his seat in 2022 general elections.
