MP Chachu Ganya Declares Interest for Marsabit Governor’s Seat

North Horr Member of Parliament Chachu Ganya is going for Marsabit Gubernatorial seat during the August General Election.

Chachu who is serving his third term as MP has initiated unmatched developed projects in North Horr constituency as well as the larger County. He has as a result emerged as one of big influential politicians in Marsabit County and larger Asal Counties.

Source told Arf Media that Cabinet Secretary (CS) Finance Ukur Yatani will not be contesting for Governor seat, which is a clear indication that Chachu is voiced to be the sole candidate for Gabra nation.

The Gabra Nation is composed of five phratries; Algana, Sharbana, Gar, Galbo and Odola. In Algana sub tribe where the MP hails from has overwhelmingly thrown weight behind him signaling that Chacu is now a serious governor’s seat candidate. They have declared to take him to Gabra Nation ahead of its planned meeting in Bubisa for final community endorsement.

Mp Chachu the man Gabra community has bestowed power for 15 years is cited as a person who has served the community diligently in all spheres of development where education is leading as his biggest legacy to be celebrated since he formed a Non governmental organization called Chalbi scholars. The NGO has gone in all heights in sponsoring students from Marsabit County.

Health, roads, water and security are also other areas to be celebrated as major development scorecard for the Legislator.

The Lawmaker is not new in Marsabit since he joined politics and therefore his Gubernatorial contest could a walkover.
