Jubilee Lawmaker from Eldas Constituency Dr Adan Keynan yesterday came out in the open declaring his interest in the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) Report during the meeting between County Security team and the locals.
The MP firmly supported the BBI Report saying it caters for the interest of NEP people particularly members of the Somali Community.
The long serving MP in Wajir County who is well versed with NEP Politics urged all the leaders across the North Frontier District (NFD) to rally their support behind BBI Report.
The MP said the 2010 Constitution has given a big advantage to the marginalised communities, Somali Community being part of them. Citing Devolution as a major milestone of the new Constitution, Keynan said NEP region is getting billions of Shillings to govern itself.
More on BBI Report, Dr Keynan said the proposed constitutional amendments is all about an Inclusive Government which will further ensure resources will further trickle to the Counties which is good for common mwananchi.
The Mp said “As NEP leaders we will not gumble with Kenyans’ politics since some of us are experienced legislators and BBI will absolutely unite Kenyans”.
The MP castigated perennial Ethnic Wars after every General election which, he however said will be fully addressed by BBI report that is going to harmonize election processes aware that many leaders come together for one common purpose to win the elections.
The Lawmaker thanked Garissa Senator Yussuf Haji saying as a son of Somali Community bestowed with stewarding the process of reforms will have his name in the books of history.
Kenyan said Senator Haji was competent enough with fast experience both during his service to the nation in different capacities both as career civil servant and veteran politician. The MP said as NEP leaders they have faith in Haji leading the BBI team.
Dr Keynan said the BBI brigade from NEP Region will work under the stewardship of Garissa Governor Ali Korane, who is being assisted by two other Governors.
As senior lawmaker from NEP, Keynan promised that the Leadership of Wajir led by the Governor and the MPs will rally behind BBI.
Dr Keynan’s vow that NEP leaders overwhelmingly support the BBI Report is telling and therefore President Kenyatta and Rails Odinga are counting on them.
