Governor Mohamud taps young blood for his transformative agenda

Wajir Governor Ambassador Mohamed Abdi today announced new appointments of CEC and CCOs to fill existing gaps aimed at benefiting the youth in his top leadership.

He has consequently released the names to the County Assembly for vetting and approval before he could confirm their appointments.

“These nominees shall fill the existing gaps within the County Executive Committee and Chief officers and will generally lead to meeting the gender, regional balance and cultural diversity requirements as well as the academic qualifications and integrity for their respective positions in line with the Constitution”, said Ambassador Mohamed Abdi when he announced the nominees.

The appointments is pursuant to the fulfilment of the Powers conferred to the governor by the Constitution of Article 179 (2) (b) and as read together with Part V. Sections 30 (2) (a)and (d) 31 (c) 35 (1) and 45 (1) (a) of the County government Act. 2012.

” I submit to the County Assembly the names of the following persons for the positions of County Executive Committee Member and Chief officers for vetting and Approval in accordance with the mandate of the County Assembly under Article 185 (3) of the Constitution”, he said in his Communication to the County Assembly.

 

The Governor in his administration has considered Youth who have landed top jobs in the County Government among them CEC and CCOs.

His administration is however not biased with a balanced appointments to ensure all six sub counties of Wajir County are represented.
