Governor Mohamud makes good on Mashujaa Day pledge with three ambulances

Wajir Governor Amb. Mohamed Abdi Mohamud has today showcased three new ambulances the county procured to improve referral health services.

During the Mashujaa Day event on October 20, 2020, the governor delivered a bold speech where he announced that the county will procure three new ambulances and today he has fulfilled his promise in less than one month.

The event took place at Toyota offices in westlands, Nairobi before the governor shared on his facebook Page the photos of the three brand land cruiser vehicles. The governor made his first experience on the steering wheel of the new ambulance cars.

In his 2020/2021 financial year, governor Mohamud has thrown weight behind the budgetary allocation touching on health sector which will receive close to 1 billion shillings.

In his speech during Mashujaa day the governor said “My government is committed to health sector and the citizens have the right to access better health”.

The governor said the new ambulances will improve referral health service a cross the six sub counties. This will ensure emergencies are given priority the, governor added.

He said in cases of complications and matters that need attention and use of expertise, the new ambulances will be at call to attend to the concerned patients.

Governor Mohamud’s acquisition of the three new ambulances comes at a time when wajir’s need for emergency services has also increased over the years because of the need for more specialized treatment outside the county.

The new development will go hand in hand in building the governor’s ambitious legacy that will help him reclaim his seat during the 2022 general elections.
