Duale’s survival in the Parliamentary purge confirms President trusts in him

Leader of Majority Party in the National Assembly Aden Duale today survived the purge in Parliamentary leadership displaying the trust President Uhuru Kenyatta has in him.

The Jubilee Coalition National Parliamentary Group Meeting chaired by President Kenyatta at State House, Nairobi, endorsed Justin B Muturi to continue serving as the Speaker of the National Assembly, and Moses Cheboi to remain as his deputy. Jimmy Angwenyi also survived to continue serving as the Deputy Majority Leader.

In a statement released by State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena Mararo, announced the replacement of Benjamin Washiali as the Majority Whip with Emmanuel Wangwe with Cecily Mbarire being replaced by Richard Maoka Maore as the Deputy Whip.

Further, President Kenyatta, the Party Leader appointed Kipipiri MP Amos Kimunya to serve as the Secretary of the Jubilee Coalition Joint Parliamentary Group.

“Today’s Parliamentary Group meeting endorsed Hon Justin B Muturi to continue serving as the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon Moses Cheboi to continue serving as the Deputy Speaker, Hon Adan Duale to continue serving as the Majority Leader in the National Assembly, and Hon Jimmy Angwenyi to continue serving as the Deputy Majority Leader”, statement said in part.

Reinstatement of Aden Duale, the Garissa Township Lawmaker solidifies his top leadership position not only in Parliament, but Nationally ahead of 2022.

He has come out as a strong defender of Governnent agenda in Parliament and interests of members of the Pastoral communities where he serves as the leader of Parliamentary Group.

Duale has also won the confidence of his Somali community who have bestowed him as their leader refered as ‘Somali King’.

Today’s, Jubilee Coalition National Parliamentary Group meeting which was attended by Deputy President Dr William Ruto who is also the Jubilee Coalition’s Deputy Party Leader, Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju and a total of 212 Members of Parliament comes in the heels of a recent Senate PG which effected similar changes in it’s leadership.

Changes in the Senate saw Kipchumba Murkomen replaced as Leader of Majority by Samuel Porgisio while Susan Kihika was replaced by Irungu Kang’ata as Majority Whip.
