Duale widely praised for his concession speech after PG ouster

Aden Duale delivered a bold exist speech at Parliament building just a day after the Parliamentary Group Meeting of Jubilee Coalition at Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) that ousted him from the prominent seat of the Leader of Majority Party.

Unlike Kipchumba Murkomen who rushed to address press conferences and even reacted bitterly on social media after his removal from the same office in the Senate, Duale was totally different.

Duale who was calm and all smiles as he delivered his speech before handing over the reigns of Majority Leader to Kipipiri Member of Parliament Amos Kimunya. He wished Kimunya all the best in the new office.

In his bold exist speech Duale gave a chronology of the seven years he had served in the position with diligent and dedication that made him succeed in pushing through all agendas of the Government and Jubilee Party leader President Uhuru Kenyatta.

In his speech, Duale said he worked with different staff drawn from different communities across the nation in the office of the leader of the Majority Party who acted competently enough and they were part of the achievements he carried during his seven years of service.

The Garissa Township MP said personally he had nothing to blame President Uhuru Kenyatta following his removal. He said he respects the Head of State as the party leader and a close friend. Duale affirmed his relationship with the President will remain intact.

After his exit speech the new Majority Leader Amos Kimunya appreciated the services of Duale terming him an asset to Parliament saying he was well versed with the Constitution and rich with Parliamentary terms. Duale was up to the task and I will reach him for counsel and advise, Kimunya noted.

Senior Members of Parliament who spoke frequently in the August House after catching the Speaker’s eye like Minority leader John m
Mbadi and Minority Whip Junet Mohamed applauded Duale as a man who served his seven-year time with dignity and professionalism.

Duale’s name will go into the history books for having successfully delivered in the office of the Leader of Majority Party in Parliament, being the first holder after the 2010 Constitution of Kenya.

Despite his unceremonious removal just two years to the completion of his second term in Parliament, Duale’s political career will remain high due to his connections and network not only in Kenya, but globally.
