BBI rapidly being politicised, warns Duale

Majority Leader in the National Assembly Aden Duale said today insecurity, closure of schools and census issues are challenges facing people in North Eastern.

He said the problems facing his people were his priority compared to the ongoing Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) consultative forums being held countrywide.

Duale who has been away in US for the last two weeks when the BBI rallies picked momentum said his tray was full a head of Parliament resuming sitting next week after the long holiday.

“Currently my tray is full with parliament resuming next week. The people of North Eastern are facing a lot of problems from insecurity, schools being closed down to census issues”, he posted on his Facebook Page citing them as his priorities now.

Duale expressed concern that the BBI debate has been taken over by politicians pushing for their interests.

He said was ready to support BBI which he termed as a noble idea whose architect is President Uhuru Kenyatta and Chief Opposition Leader Raila Oding if it’s agenda to unite Kenyans is maintained.

The Garissa Township MP regretted that the BBI process which was initiated by the President was an all-inclusive process, but has now been hijacked by politicians who are causing confusion.

Duale said he would only attend the BBI forums if President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto are present.
